The great American diva, Denyce Graves, will be making two very rare appearances in Britain this summer singing Carmen - her signature role - on 29 and 31 July. Miss Graves joins a full supporting cast in a spectacular new production of everyone’s favourite opera, by the Italian-based director Denis Krief. The Wall Street Journal called Miss Graves, ‘The hottest Carmen on the circuit today.’ Former general director of the Washington Opera, Martin Feinstein stated simply, “She is the definitive Carmen!” Having made her debut in the role at the Metropolitan Opera in 1995, she has gone on to perform it in the major opera houses of the world including at the Royal Opera House with Plácido Domingo, the Vienna State Opera, the Arena di Verona and at La Scala, Milan. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see one of the world’s finest singers, live on stage with Dorset’s very own international opera company.

The world’s leading opera magazine Opera Now describes Dorset Opera as, ‘Top of the tree in the UK’s regional opera scene’ with its performances being, ‘Consistently on a par with the UK’s five main opera companies.’ Similar to Glyndebourne, Dorset Opera offers fine dining and picnicking opportunities in 400 acres of glorious rolling countryside. The Coade Theatre boasts unimpeded sightlines to the stage from each of its 600 seats. For food ordering, full cast and performance details: www.dorseopera.com
