In the spirit of the Met's desire to promote opera to people who might not otherwise attend, we offer a masterclass 'From Page to Stage' in which celebrated International tenor Jon Andrew (who lives locally) introduces ways in which highlights of this evening's opera presentation would be approached by the director and cast. Includes pianist and guest soprano.

Jon Andrew has sung principal roles in the four operas he is illustrating for us here (alongside many others, of course). When the first masterclass (on Madame Butterfly) was presented last season, the participants found the experience enlightening and entertaining. There will also be a chance to put questions to Jon in the final section of the event. Admission to these Masterclass events is £3.

We've also talked to The Ship, opposite the theatre here, who are offering a two or three course meal (dessert saved till after the event, if you choose) specially for people attending the broadcast operas, and it will be possible to enjoy this after the workshop event, if you choose to do so.
