Bouncers - Arena Theatre
11th - 12th February 2010
Bursting with imagination and wit and presented by just five actors, Bouncers is an outrageous and hilarious parody of the disco scene in the 1980's. The four brutish bouncers of the title plus one, portray over 20 characters as we are invited for a night out on the town. We see them as giggly girls and lads on the make preparing for the big night out as we follow their progress to the disco floor. Not suitable for young children as contains language that some may find offensive

Crucial Crucible at the Regent
Few would argue with the view that The Crucible is one of the most important plays of the twentieth century. Searingly powerful, full of emotional intensity, and devastatingly well structured, the play also brings to mind one of the most extraordinary periods in USA history, when the near hysterical McCarthy communist 'witch hunts' gave the lie to America's proud tradition of freedom. The parallel Arthur Miller uses is the Salem witch trials in Massachusetts, in which people with any minor grudge could whistle-blow witches, and for 24 people, death was the result, 20 of them having been executed.
Regent Rep is proud to stage the play, featuring outstanding local talent, both on stage and behind the scenes, from 23rd-26th February, and tickets are on sale now. Performances are at 7.30, but on Wednesday 24th there is a special matinee at 2.00 pm, targeted at local schools - this is a real opportunity for young people in the Dorset area to experience something which will ignite or sustain their enthusiasm for theatre for years to come, as well as helping with their exams!

There are still some opportunities for you to make your mark at the Regent. We're offering a one-off opportunity for you to sponsor a seat, or dedicate it to the memory of a loved one.
